ALLEGORY ARTIST STATEMENT REQUIREMENTS

Paragraph 1:
What is an allegory?  Define the terms.  (Refer back to your notes!)
Describe Plato’s Allegory of the Cave (If you read it, You get extra points for having read the first three pages and mentioning it here!)

Paragraph 2:
Describe one of the three paintings we analyzed at the beginning of the unit. (Refer back to your notes!) Describe how these are allegories.  Make the connection between the Renaissance and allegorical works.

Paragraph 3:
Describe your painting.  How did you go about finalizing the idea?  What was the process of creation?  What lesson are you teaching through your painting?  What are the symbols?  

Paragraph 4:
Looking back on this project, was it a positive experience?  Why or why not?  Reflect on the art of creating an allegory.  What makes allegorical works so profound?
